Property Details
This straw-bale, energy efficient, eco-friendly home has been built by Paul Koppana of SkyHawk Construction, who has been building alternative home construction using straw-bale, earthen plasters, renewable resources and locally harvested materials since 1988.
This 1532sf home sits on .91 acres high up in Chalet 1 with 2 or 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The additional room could be used as a bedroom or office. The home is designed for strong passive solar. Solar hot water panels supply the domestic hot water and the radiant heat floors. A heat recovery ventilator for fresh air and passive radon mitigation, which can be converted to active, is all part of the design.
Foundation is slab on grade with stained concrete floors throughout. This house has been built with all natural materials with no or low VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).
